BTG secures £45 million club facility for nursery group, supporting expansion to nine new locations

The Challenge

A nursey group, operating 20 childcare facilities across London and the South-East, required substantial funding to execute an ambitious expansion programme between 2025 and 2026. The group sought to open nine new state-of-the-art nursery locations, creating over 1,000 additional childcare places and increasing total capacity to over 3,000 places. The expansion strategy demanded coordinated financing bringing together multiple lenders, whilst meeting complex regulatory and insurance requirements which are inherent in the early years education sector.

Our Approach

We arranged a £45 million club facility between two lenders. We structured the facility to support sequential site openings across both years, with 2025 openings planned for Richmond, Clapham, Reading, Twickenham, Cheam, and Whitton, followed by Maidenhead, Windsor, High Wycombe, and a purpose-built Beckenham facility in 2026. Our insurance team ensured all lender requirements were met.

The Outcome

We successfully completed the £45 million facility, enabling the group to accelerate its growth strategy and expand capacity significantly across the South-East, delivering substantial additional childcare provision to support families in the area.
