Lenders and investors need clarity when risk or uncertainty emerges. Diagnostic business reviews (DBRs) provide an objective assessment of financial resilience, operational performance, and future prospects. Our DBRs empower stakeholders with the actionable insights needed to make informed decisions.

DBRs take several forms:

  • Independent business reviews (IBR): Commissioned by lenders when solvency, liquidity, or covenant risks arise. We assess cash flow, forecasts, debt-servicing history, assets and liabilities, working capital, governance systems, and competitive market position. We test long-term viability through scenario modelling. Accurate information and proactive management cooperation reduce costs and demonstrate business control.
  • Insolvency reviews (IR): Independent assessment of liquidity, balance-sheet strength, and viability to support board decisions and legal obligations. Reviews highlight governance or regulatory vulnerabilities and map options (e.g., administration, CVA, restructuring, or trade sales). Outputs establish viable options, immediate stabilisation actions, and directors’ guidance on compliance and communication.
  • Options reviews: Rapid and commercial assessment of refinancing, restructuring, majority/minority interest disposals or formal insolvency pathways. We examine and compare risks and outcomes so stakeholders can understand the most value-enhancing and deliverable strategies in stressed scenarios.
  • Pre-Lend reviews: We test business plans, management assumptions and financial forecasts ahead of new credit facilities. This due diligence ensures lending terms are aligned with risk.

Outcomes from DBRs include capital injections, adjustments to credit exposure, sourcing third-party funding, enhanced monitoring protocols, or facilitating a controlled, orderly exit. Success depends on borrower cooperation. We target management buy-in, test assumptions through leadership interviews, and balance conflicting priorities to rebuild trust.
