Learn more about Martin Barron
Martin is a Partner based in our Leeds office. He specialises in business restructuring and turnaround, with extensive experience in commercial refinance, corporate reorganisation, business plan assessments, business and options reviews and special situations M&A.
Martin has over 25 years of experience advising stakeholders on refinancing, reviewing financial models and undertaking corporate reorganisations. He regularly conducts SME forecast reviews for panel banks, including Barclays and HSBC. He is also experienced in restructuring listed companies, including delisting and debt for equity.
He recently worked on a pre-lend review for a specialist retail and commercial banking provider as part of a £20 million lending arrangement for the MBO of a haulage company. He also managed the AMA sale of a £25 million turnover medicine testing business on a solvent basis.
Prior to joining BTG, Martin gained experience at a global professional services consultancy firm in the restructuring division. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a non-appointment taking insolvency license.

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
