Ashley is a Director based in our Manchester office, leading the Building Surveying team. He specialises in contract administration, project management, pre-acquisition surveys, dilapidations, technical due diligence and reinstatement cost assessments, with extensive experience across education, retail, office, industrial, residential, hotel and leisure sectors.

He has over 11 years' experience delivering building surveying services to a diverse client base, providing strategic advice on design and specification, party wall matters, condition surveys and project monitoring. His work encompasses both advisory and hands-on project delivery, supporting clients through complex property transactions and development schemes.

Prior to joining, Ashley gained experience at a global real estate services company as a Chartered Building Surveyor and previously worked at a global quantity surveying and construction consultancy, progressing through building surveying roles. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) and holds a degree in Building Surveying from Northumbria University.

US tariff reset erodes UK’s advantage as exporters prepare for the next regime

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
