Bob is a Partner based in our Leeds office. He specialises in business restructuring, debt advisory, refinancing and cash flow management. He has extensive experience in financial analysis and the delivery of pragmatic solutions in both solvent and insolvent situations, with a strong focus on protecting and enhancing value for lenders. He has significant experience supporting UK clearing banks through complex turnaround scenarios, including two major secondments involving delivering restructuring advice for financially distressed clients. He is also the lead partner for the BTG Strategic Options product.
Bob is experienced across all major sectors, including advising shareholders, directors, institutional funders, banks and asset-based lenders. Throughout his career, he successfully led two large scale workout programmes for national banks. His project leadership includes a major engagement with National Australia Bank, leading a nationwide team to address a distressed property portfolio. He also worked alongside HM Government to restructure a key TMT supplier, securing continuity of critical services. He also collaborated with bank staff in managing a £800 million debt portfolio comprising over 1,000 accounts.
Other notable cases include preparing and implementing a turnaround plan for one of the largest digital services providers in the UK and its subsequent successful trade sale to an international group. He also initiated the trade sale of a national casino chain to a US-based gaming company, the successful refinance and restructuring of a national chain of nursing homes, and has engaged with the FCA on a multi-million-pound mortgage fraud scheme.
He is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner and a Chartered Accountant.
