Learn more about Charles Titcombe

Charles is an Associate of our Corporate Finance division based in our Birmingham office and works across the UK. He specialises in providing company and sector valuations, identifying strategic acquirers and assisting with a variety of transactions.

His recent transactions include assisting the wider team with buy-side support to LDC on its investment in Harper James Limited. This involved delivering financial analysis and modelling, assisting with the exit review, and market mapping to support the buy-and-build strategy.

Prior to joining BTG, Charles graduated with a degree in Business Economics and Finance from Loughborough University. He also completed a year-long placement at Livingbridge.

US tariff reset erodes UK’s advantage as exporters prepare for the next regime

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
