David is a Partner based in our London office. He specialises in corporate insolvency and business restructuring, with extensive experience taking formal appointments and advising lenders and creditors on business recovery strategies. This ranges from solvent and insolvent liquidations, Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs), administrations and bankruptcies.
David has over 30 years of experience handling insolvency and restructuring matters across a wide array of entities, from large complex multi-national companies to small owner-managed businesses.
Notable cases include the administration of a charity services company with over 1,000 employees across 17 locations. He has assisted in the complex winding up and restructuring of a large quoted company involving multi-million pounds of bond holders. He was also instructed to act in winding down a community interest company, liaising with regulators, reviewing financial transactions and handling the transfer to a similar entity.
Prior to joining BTG, David gained experience at a business advisory, restructuring and insolvency practice as a partner. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
