John is a Partner based in our Brighton office. He specialises in corporate insolvency and personal insolvency, with extensive experience in Members’ Voluntary Liquidations.
John has over 30 years of experience delivering insolvency advice to individuals and businesses, and handles every type of insolvency procedure for companies, LLPs, charities and individuals.
Prior to joining BTG over 25 years ago, he gained experience at a corporate insolvency and business restructuring firm. He is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

US tariff reset erodes UK’s advantage as exporters prepare for the next regime
The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
