Laura is a Partner based in our Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe offices. She specialises in corporate insolvency, personal insolvency and business restructuring, with extensive experience in distressed advisory and business investigations.

Laura has over 20 years of experience delivering insolvency and restructuring advice and conducting detailed investigations to identify and recover assets and maximise realisations. She is regularly involved in liquidations, administrations, Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs), bankruptcies, Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), LPA receiverships and insolvency administration orders (IAOs).

Laura has a legal background, having completed a law degree (LLB Honours) and the legal practice course. She is AAT qualified and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

US tariff reset erodes UK’s advantage as exporters prepare for the next regime

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
