Learn more about Mark Malone
Mark is a Partner based in our Birmingham office and operates from other BTG offices across the Midlands. He specialises in corporate insolvency and restructuring, with extensive experience in business reviews, cashflow reviews, business and asset sales, corporate simplification exercises, short-term liquidity strategies and options analysis for directors, business owners and lenders.
Mark has over 20 years of experience supporting business owners, management teams and lenders across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, construction, leisure, transport and logistics.
He recently provided restructuring advice to the management team of a precision engineering business servicing the automotive sector, stabilising their short-term cash position and providing time to implement a successful sale and leaseback strategy for the main trading premises. He maintained communication and engagement with the principal lenders and the management team due to profitability concerns. He assisted with insolvency planning, leading to the eventual sale of the business and assets through company administration.
He supported a logistics and distribution business providing services to blue chip customers across the UK. He was initially engaged by the principal finance provider to provide cashflow advice and immediate insolvency planning due to extensive creditor pressure. The advice resulted in the full repayment of the secured lender and a coordinated and controlled wind down of operations, avoiding an otherwise uncontrolled insolvency event.
Earlier in his career with BTG, Mark completed a successful secondment in the business support team at a major UK clearing bank. Prior to joining BTG, he had gained experience at a global financial and risk advisory firm. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
