Mike is a Director based in our Manchester office. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer specialising in highway design and detailed infrastructure planning, with extensive experience delivering complex highway infrastructure projects for residential and commercial developments across the UK.
Mike leads the Detailed Design arm of the consultancy, providing comprehensive highway design services to major developers and public sector clients. Notable work includes managing the highways infrastructure for Langley Sustainable Urban Extension (LSUE), one of the UK's largest residential developments comprising 6,000 units in Sutton Coldfield, and the £100 million St Helens Town Centre Regeneration scheme, featuring extensive highways improvements alongside hotel, retail and residential elements. He has built a strong track record delivering strategic infrastructure solutions that enable large-scale development projects.
Prior to joining BTG, Mike founded and led Croft Transport Planning and Design, a BTG acquisition. He holds a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, and further master's degrees in Transport Planning from the University of Edinburgh and Construction Management from the University of Bolton.

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
