Learn more about Nick Neophytou
Nick is a Managing Director of our Funding and Insurance division which specialises in commercial finance, mortgages and insurance for UK businesses and individuals. Nick’s specialism is real estate and development finance, focusing on transactions exceeding £10 million. He is also a member of BTG’s Strategic Advisory Board.
Nick has over 20 years of experience in banking and finance, working as a commercial and corporate banker for 10 years, before co-launching Mantra Group in 2015, a specialist debt advisory boutique which he has led since its launch in 2015. He continues to act as a Managing Director, following BTG’s acquisition of Mantra in 2022.
Nick is regularly appointed debt adviser on joint ventures between developers and private equity, engaged from site acquisition, through planning and construction. He has experience across most asset types, including emerging asset classes like co-living, where Nick and his team have developed a first-class track record, providing the debt advice for schemes with GDVs totalling £1.5 billion in the past 3 years, including a recent loan of £122 million for the development of a co-living and hotel development in London.

The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
