BTG assembles multi-parcel site for major supermarket development

The Challenge

A major supermarket identified growing demand for a new store and tasked BTG with sourcing and securing a suitable site. Our team identified a location that met the supermarkets operational and planning criteria; however, it required the acquisition of a complex site comprising five separate land parcels totalling approximately three acres, all under different ownership.

Our Approach

Once the site was approved in principle by the supermarket, BTG undertook discrete negotiations with five different landowners to acquire each parcel individually. Our team leveraged local market expertise and strong negotiation skills to structure the individual acquisitions whilst maintaining strategic coordination across the overall site assembly.

The Outcome

We successfully assembled the full three-acre site within budget, enabling the development to proceed as planned. Confident in the planning potential we had identified, the supermarket proceeded with unconditional purchase, demonstrating complete trust in both the site and our assessment. Planning permission was subsequently secured, paving the way for construction of the new store.
