Buy side Advisory to Alliance in Partnership 1

About the deal:

AiP is a leading specialist educational catering provider, operating over 170 school catering contracts and feeding over 35,000 pupils a day across central England and West London. The company, which has sales of over £14 million and employs over 800 people, supplies freshly, cooked schools meals to primary, secondary, academy and specialist schools, within the state and independent school sector. The management buy-out was supported by a £5.2 million equity investment by Key Capital Partners with a debt package provided by Yorkshire Bank Acquisition Finance.

How we made a difference:

  • Negotiated the transaction with a private shareholders which had different exit requirements.
  • Negotiated funding terms on behalf of the management team with both equity and debt providers.
  • Controlled pricing negotiation acting as intermediary between the competing requirements of investors, management team and vendors.
  • Project managed the process throughout securing a successful completion.

We looked at various potential advisors but BTG promised a personal, partner-led approach with a commitment to excellence. Having previously worked with, and been disappointed by, other corporate finance advisors, it is fair to say that they far outperformed our expectations. I would have no hesitation in recommending BTG to others and would welcome the opportunity to talk to anyone who wishes to use their services.
