Julie is the Managing Partner for the South West, based in our Salisbury office. She specialises in corporate insolvency, business restructuring and financial advisory, with expertise across the sport, digital assets, construction, retail and healthcare sectors. She serves as BTG’s national media spokesperson and is widely regarded as a trusted commentator for the profession, regularly appearing across major television news, business networks and national broadsheet outlets.
Julie has over 30 years of experience and has advised on and successfully executed the sale of several top-tier football and rugby clubs, delivering commercially sound outcomes for stakeholders.
She recently completed the sale of a major care group as a going concern, achieving full repayment to secured creditors and supporting over 800 residents and service users by ensuring the uninterrupted transfer of care to an experienced provider. She was involved in the administration of a large cladding business subject to a public enquiry due to its involvement in installations at Grenfell Towers.
She served as a council member of R3 (Association of Business Recovery Professionals), contributing to the policy group and representing R3 in parliamentary discussions.
She is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner and holds a degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.

US tariff reset erodes UK’s advantage as exporters prepare for the next regime
The Trump administration has replaced the reciprocal tariffs regime that was struck down by the Supreme Court with a non-discriminatory tariff tool, shifting tariff risk to a more uncertain carve-out-driven framework. In this new regime, the UK’s prior relative advantage for non-exempt goods is no longer assured and outcomes depend on sector carve-outs, product mix and enforcement.
