BTG is pleased to announce that it has advised the shareholders of Medical Imaging on the £12m sale of their business to EMIS plc.
About the deal:
Worcester-based Medical Imaging is a leading provider of healthcare services delivering diabetic eye screening and ophthalmology imaging to the NHS in England. The business also has a growing presence assisting Ireland’s national health service, the HSE. Medical Imaging boasts 30 years' experience in specialist ophthalmic photography and over 15 years of experience in the provision of Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Services. The business was established over 40 years ago by Richard Hildred who was subsequently joined by his son Jonathan who is now Managing Director.
Aim-listed EMIS is the UK leader in connected healthcare software and service used in primary and community care, to high street pharmacies, secondary care and specialist services. The acquisition is in line with EMIS strategy of providing cross-organisational healthcare systems and further enhances its position in diabetic eye screening.
